DESCRIPTION:
EPW - L'Epine a Paris, 36mm, 18K gold (tested) OF original case with blue guilloche enamel detail to rear having a flower at center, red and green enamel accents at rear perimeter, pearl set bezel, gilt cuvette, white enamel dial, KWKS (key not included with this lot), gilt L'Epine caliber mvt with standing barrel, s#4730 to pendant. Gross weight of assembled watch 17.6 dwt (27.3 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: NR, fully wound, ticks briefly with a twist, overhaul needed, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, scattered scratches, good gilt tone; dial flawless in visible portion; fine hands, minute with mild bend; case shows light wear, some metal loss to rear/body seam at 3 presumably from pried past openings (the case is meant to be opened by depressing the pendant button which releases both the rear and the spring-loaded cuvette), cuvette with two prominent scratches to its upper portion, good engraving detail, rear guilloche enamel with area of loss at left perimeter, enamel with profuse small scratches throughout, bezel pearls are present though two appear to have long ago been re-secured by now discolored paste; tight bow, push shows medium wear; good domed glass crystal.
